Stephanie Kapsis is

In 2019, Stephanie founded The Gathering Project, a people focused firm designed to provide leadership coaching and talent management support to school systems, non-profits and companies. She specializes in assisting with change management support, team capacity building, and culture planning.

Clients have included school systems such as KIPP DC, KIPP Baltimore, KIPP Colorado, KIPP Nashville, Arlington Public Schools, DC Public Schools, non-profit organizations such as Project Zero and I AM ALS, as well as companies such as GrainPro Inc, Level Field Partners, and Delphos International.

Prior to founding The Gathering Project, Stephanie served as the Managing Director of Talent and Senior Advisor at KIPP DC, a network of high-performing, college-preparatory public schools educating more than 6,500 students across 19 schools in Washington, D.C. In her role, Stephanie oversaw all human capital work for the KIPP DC network, including Recruitment, Human Resources, and Talent Development support for the more than 1,500 instructional and non-instructional staff members. Stephanie is also a former teacher, teacher coach, non-profit leader, and elected public school board member.

From executive talent searches to organizational design to succession planning to performance reviews to layoffs to retention planning, Steph has led it all. She uses data and individual context to craft plans and deliverables while also providing practical support for the team, which may include role-plays, document reviews, and joint planning sessions.
